The Oxford Sandy and Black pig is a medium to large animal. It has a base of a sandy brown color with black spots. It has a white blaze, feet and tassel. The animals have fine shoulders and good hams. Their legs are strong and the feet are well placed, giving them a free and active walking pattern. Their head is moderately strong or slightly violent with a hang ear or half hang ear. The Oxford Sandy and Black is a hardy, docile pig that can be kept outdoors. Earlier, the breed was popular with workers because it could live off garbage and was hardy. The breed has twice been on the verge of extinction, but fortunately is recovering.
The Oxford Sandy and Black pig is a breed of domestic pig from Oxfordshire, England. As the name suggests, the breed has a base of a sandy brown color with black spots. The breed also has other names such as Oxford Forest Pig or Plum Pudding. It is a very old breed that is native to Britain and has been around for about 200-300 years. The breed is one of the oldest pig breeds and related to the ancient pig breeds of Berkshire and Tamworth.
Currently, the total number of Oxford Sandy and Black piglets is increasing. The breed association called "Oxford Sandy and Black Pig Society" is helping to restore the total number of the breed.

Meat
The Oxford Sandy and Black eat less so they grow and thicken less. So at slaughter there is less meat, but more fat. As a result, the meat has a real pig flavor and is spicier than that of the breeding pig.
